Modeled after late Art Nouveau design of park structures in early Olmsted parks, this rustic log bridge is in a private residence in Downers Grove Illinois. The railings are native black locust. This species of tree grows naturally in gentle spirals. Here they are woven to create dramatic railings. The planks are native white oak. Both are very dense, heavy and very rot resistant.
